Faces of Nederweert

At the British War Cemetery in Nederweert there are 363 soldiers  buried of the British Commonwealth who lost their lives during the Second World War.

Since its establishment in February 2020, the researchers of the Foundation Adoption Graves Nederweert War Cemetery have conducted intensive research into the background of these soldiers and have now found 190 photos.

The ultimate goal is to give a face to all the fallen. We aim to place signs at their graves during the traditional November commemoration and on Christmas Eve during 'Lights on War Graves'. Thus these stones will become living stones, having not only a name, but also a face.

If you have background information or a photo of one of these soldiers that you would like to share with our foundation, please mail to adoptiegravennederweert@gmail.com.

The acquired data is currently stored in a cloud-based database, which is not public. However, upon request, you can have access to it.

In the future, we would like to make this information available, but at the moment, we don't have the capacity to publish it. Therefore, our current focus remains on the research. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please feel free to ask.
